Who's ready for something fun?!

I was greatly inspired by this list posted by Getting Organized Magazine a few weeks ago. I like to think I had a lot of this list tackled….but now scanning through it, I realize I too have some opportunity to clear out some unnecessary clutter that may have piled up over the years --- especially now with a new baby in the home!

I think it’s pretty common for most folks to approach these type of activities come the New Year. January just happens to be “Get Organized Month” after all. But I’m thinking now is just as great of a time as ever to begin clearing out the unnecessary and getting ourselves ready for the upcoming holidays. If you have family or friends coming to visit for the holidays, what a great time to get your house in order! And with the many blessings that Christmas can bring, why not make some room for the new?!

So here’s my simple dimple plan with this….I would LOVE LOVE to have you jump on board with me!!

  1. I’m going to break this list out into reasonable chunks and post a new set of items to tackle at the beginning of each week for the next few months. Please note: I may adjust and/or add a few items to the list so be flexible

  2. If you too are ready to tackle something like this, review the short list I post and go through your spaces putting aside those said items to toss and/or donate

  3. Snap a pix and post or email me a pix of your progress. I PROMISE to keep you anonymous and will not share any of your pictures without your permission. I too will share pix of my own progress each week.

  4. After you have sent your pix, toss and/or donate those items. See below for some words of advice to help you through this part. And if you have ANY questions or need some further help, don’t hesitate to contact me.

  5. At the end of this I will randomly select from a list of those who participated along the way. Winner will receive a Williams Sonoma gift card and another fun prize I will share at the end :)

So who’s ready to get started?! Let’s have some fun with this!

Be on the lookout for the first list on Monday, October 5th.

Toss or Donate Decision:

Ask yourself, “Would someone pay money to buy this?” If you think someone would pay money for it, then it’s usually in good enough quality to donate to charity. However, if an item is chipped, torn, stained, or damaged in any way, you should usually trash or recycle the item.
