Holiday Decorating...YEAH!

Wow where has this year gone?! It is my most favorite time of the year but it is still hard to believe it is December and Christmas is just around the corner. Yikes! I don't know about you but I still feel like my to-do list is a mile long...not to mention the Christmas shopping list has yet to see a dent in it. Nonetheless, I love this time to spruce up the home with holiday cheer...lots of lights, candles, and new colors definitely warms the soul.

Although I still use a lot of the same decor from years past, I like to change things up a bit each year incorporating a slight twist in color palette and some unique pieces. Last year was more about the golds, bronzes, and reds whereas this year, I decided to incorporate some silvers, whites, and lots of blue/green hues. Lovin it! Now I have to admit....I did NOT put up a tree this year. Call me crazy but we are pretty over the artificial tree we've had for years and weren't ready just yet to commit to the real deal so I decided to purposely decorate without a tree this year. With my inspirational friend called Pinterest, I searched for alternatives and while these ideas definitely don't replace the feeling and look of a gorgeous Christmas tree, they still bring a lot of beauty and joy to the home for at least this year :)

I took some snaps of some of our decor so far...the lighting wasn't that great tonight so only sharing a few. I'm planning to take more on Christmas day when my tablescape is ready for show. More details on that to come!

Here are a few pics from last year....

And here is how is how things are looking this year so far...

Some subtle changes with new pillows (loving my new pillow cover from Pottery Barn!)

Added some lighted greenery to the top of my hutch and embellished with ornament accents.

My mother-in-law sent us this beautiful wreath from Oregon....Smells beautiful and is as close to a tree as we're getting this year :(

Lots and lots of ornaments this year...hung some of these pretties from tall glittery sticks displayed on our dining table.

Meet my new friend! I got him for a steal at Ross...and he adds some great accent character to the decor this year.

These wire domes are probably my newest faves this year. I added some natural greenery and pastel ornaments to give my front entrance a fresh look.

And my beloved bell jar...with some fun candy canes that I will defintely have to replenish before Christmas due to some sticky fingers in the home : )

And last but certainly not least...my most treasured piece that will continue to be displayed for years to come. My dad made this years ago and passed it down to me. It's beyond special to me and a good reminder of the true meaning of this time of year.

Happy Decorating my friends....And ENJOY the next few weeks of 2014!! EEK!

Oh and don't forget to check out the info on our holiday specials we are running this month!
